thumb-3(Reamstown, Pa., April 5, 2013) – DORMA is pleased to introduce a revolutionary technological advance, the LPP Low-Powered Prox Access Control System, from its affiliate company Rutherford Controls International of Cambridge Ontario. Reamstown, Pennsylvania -based DORMA is a world leader in premium access solutions and services.

The new LPP is a low-powered battery-operated access control with proximity reader. It is a complete single-door stand-alone system in one easy-to-install kit, scalable for multiple doors. The kit comes complete with a proximity card reader, controller, and electric stike. There are multiple strike applications to choose from and it all operates on a 9-volt battery. Available options include the ES62 Surface Mount Rim Strike, ES62F 3-hour fire-rated rim exit strike, and the ES84 all-in-one centerline latch entry electric strike.

The compatibility makes it an ideal solution for adding access control to a remote door that’s not tied into the existing hardwired system. The system is also capable of integrating with existing credentials, with no need to add separate cards.
