Hotels and the ADA

Learn about the new 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design, which became mandatory on March 15, 2012, with a focus on the regulations and design criteria applicable to places of lodging. Creative tips will be shared on fitting ADA guestrooms into increasingly smaller building footprints common to urban areas where square footage is at a premium.

In this seminar, you can:

  • Gain a brief introductory knowledge of the accessibility laws and codes, specifically the ADA.
  • Be able to distinguish between new construction, alterations, and barrier removal requirements      of the ADA.
  • Utilize design strategies that support efficient distribution of accessible guestrooms.
  • Incorporate products and techniques within small accessible guestrooms which will ensure ADA      compliance.
