(May 28, 2013, Reamstown, PA) – “Warm, safe and dry”- those are key benefits participants deliver to residents each year when Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago stages its local National Rebuilding Day, helping improve Chicagoland homes and communities. Held this year on April 27, the event brought together some 3500 volunteers to make major repairs in 75 homes, three community facilities and one landscape area in the city’s West Englewood neighborhood and the Cook County suburb of Harvey, Ill.
Chicago-area DORMA reps The Spargo Group pitched in by donating C400 locksets with oil-rubbed bronze finishes and DB600 deadbolts, helping to achieve the “safe” part of the Rebuilding Day goal. The DORMA participation developed through Spargo’s affiliation with Primera, a leading engineering/design firm and a longtime supporter of Rebuilding Together.
“Through Jill Deichmann, our contact with Primera, we were able to assist in improving homes in some of the city’s low-income areas,” said John Spargo, president of the rep organization. “It was great to make a contribution to this worthwhile service.”
